Well, it was wednesday night when I get a call from my old recruiter, asking if I could help pack toys at the Reserve Center. I didn't have to go, but I wanted to. I met with 3 other Marine friends and we drove to the place. Once we got there, we found out a middle school group would be helping us too. We start packing hundreds of toys. One of my friends then runs up to me and tells me "Ortiz, your wanted up front". So I run there, and to my surprise, it was my old Drill Instructor. I knew I would probably run into him sometime, but I didn't expect it so soon.

It felt weird seeing him in civilian clothing, and him being all nice. He told me that I was driving him nuts, because just looking at me made him want to 'smoke' me, but he couldn't. We didn't talk much, because he had to go and I had to get back to packing toys. He just told me to "move faster".

Well, Disneyland sucked. But Recruit Training was pretty good. I just graduated this friday (Dec. 10) Some parts were difficult, like the hikes & swimming; Some parts were easy, like the rifle range. The thing I missed the most was fast food. The chow was good and all, but I still have a craving for a large pepperoni pizza for some reason. I'm glad it's finally over. Our platoon sucked. Sucked big time. They had no pride and knew nothing of TEAM WORK. We lost the Initial Drill, Final Drill, Rifle Range, PFT, and Prac Test because of those selfish monkeys. Oh well, it's over, I'm eating alot, and sleeping alot. All is well.

;) Well, probably more like hell...anyways, I'm off to Marine Recruit training in San Diego California. I'll be away for 3 months. I hope that Drill Instructor don't remember me. He said he already had 2 Ortiz's on his Sh*t list. I'll be the third. :(

Well, I just realized... I have a big mouth and I am an idiot.

I realized this after a few days ago going to an ordinary pool function us pooles have where the recruiters get us ready for boot camp. The recruiters brought a fresh DI out of training school to give us advice about boot camp.

blah blah blah, after a motivation run and few exercises, 4 hours later it ended. I'm sitting in my recruiters office and, only God knows why, I ask the question I will regret forever.

"Is there a chance that he (DI) could be one of our Drill Instructors", I asked.

"Yea", said Martinez (my recruiter),"He's yours"

He then proceeds to introduce me to him.

"Hey, this one is one of yours", he tells the DI.

I just have a shocked face, and somehow find a way to utter a measly "Hi".

The DI asks,"What's your name?"

I said,"David". "Your last?" "Ortiz"

"Hmm...Ortiz, I already have two Ortiz's on my shit list...I made one of them cry and made the other piss in his pants", he said.

"Ortiz.... I'll remember that...", he grinned.

As he walked away, he turns around a gives me one more piece of advice.

"Better keep on running", he said.

Of course, now I can't keep a low profile :-/ And when he gives me the extra attention, I will hate myself for having a big mouth.

Stop Sign

Well, I just finished Driver Ed on Friday. I should have been done with it since last year... but I'm motivationally challenged :-)

Also, since I'm not 18, I had to get this TEA form from school to get my license. I was sure I wasn't going to get a form because I went 'missing in action' a couple of times from school, and I was sure I passed the limit of 10 absences needed to get the form.

I was relieved to hear I only had one absence :-)

I didn't ask how, I just took the form and left as quickly ASAP.

Btw, here is a game that simulates a Driving test. It might look easy for a keyboard...but it's not.

I finally saw the Garfield movie. I really thought they should have made it animated like Shrek and A Bugs Life, but I still liked it. Garfield is the best cartoon character there is :-)

My favorite team is being torn apart because of Buss. Kobe will most likely go to jail, Shaq will probably go to Memphis.

Anyways, Pistons had it easy during the playoffs. Kidd was injured for the Nets, so was J. O'Neal for the Pacers. Then they go play the Lakers with an injured Malone, Fox, and Fisher in the Finals. They are not championship material, and them losing next season will only prove they got lucky. Unless they can win 2 more in a row?

If anybody actually saw the Finals, you know somebody out there didn't want L.A. to win. People man handle Kobe, no fouls called. A Laker taps a guy on the arm, boom! Technical. Perhaps that old man that owns the Shock' and Hockey team paid someone? Grr!

I'm still a Lakers fan, Always have been, and always will be.
